Dyslexia assessment cost
Sadly many parents have to pay for private dyslexia assessment, the dyslexia assessment costs around €400.
The dyslexia assessment does not and will not say your child has dyslexia but what it will say is your child levels or weaknesses in studing and how action needed to support the dyslexic student in education.
There are many organisations that can help you get your child assessment, it is worth speaking with your local Dyslexia Association or education phycolicgist.
You may think that the school will get your assessment for free (university normally will), but sadly school don't have the funding to access dyslexic because there funding assessment need to go to child who have direct disability such as movement problems in the arms and legs or wheel chair uses. If a school says they will, ask them to send you a letter explaining they will and a date for a test, if they don't do this push harding. And then if not call its lose and get a assessment done privately.
Personnally and sad for me to say most of the time its best to go private because the sooner your child has the assessment, you will know what action your childs needs to help them with their dyslexic weaknesses. Its the same with getting specialised dyslexic tutoring.
