Top 10 tips to help a dyslexic in class

  • Use colour pens when using the white pen

  • Don't give student pages with lots of text to read

  • When giving out notes to the class, have the notes on bullet points

  • Use videos in class, dyslexic will remember more

  • Don't ask students to read out aloud in class

  • Its the content in a dyslexic work that matters, not their spelling or grammar

  • When the student does something right, tell them so, "good work"

  • If the dyslexic student is looking stressed, give the student a few minutes to relax

  • Give a dyslexic student a challenge, don't give them easier work

  • Dyslexia often find self study easier to remember, so ask the dyslexic to research a topic
